Alain Couder
President and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Couder has served as a director and the President and Chief Executive Officer of Oclaro since August 2007. Prior to joining Oclaro, Mr. Couder was the CEO of three start-up software companies Dynamics, Inc., Confluent Software, Inc., and Solid Information Technology Inc., from 2002 - 2007, and also served as a Venture Advisor to Sofinnova Ventures, Inc., a venture capital company. Mr. Couder served as Chief Operating Officer of Agilent Technologies, Inc., a measurement and analysis company, from February 2000 to May 2002. Earlier in his career, Mr. Couder worked for Packard-Bell NEC as Chairman and CEO, Groupe Bull, Hewlett Packard and IBM, each a computer hardware company. Since February 2007, Mr. Couder has served as a director at Sanmina-SCI, an electronic manufacturing services firm. Mr. Couder earned a master's degree in electrical engineering from the Ecole Superieure d'Electricite in Paris.

Jerry Turin
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Turin has served as the CFO of Oclaro since July 2008. He joined Oclaro in July 2005, with his most recent title prior to being named CFO being Vice President of Finance - Corporate Controller and Treasury. Previously, Mr. Turin was at Silicon Spice, a systems-on-a-chip telecommunications start-up, where he played a lead role in several successful financing rounds and served as a member of the team that closed the sale of the company to Broadcom. In addition, Mr. Turin was the Corporate Controller at Cirrus Logic, a publicly traded semiconductor company. Prior to his corporate finance experience, Mr. Turin spent 12 years with Deloitte & Touche, rising to the position of Senior Manager of Audit Services. A substantial portion of his time with Deloitte & Touche was in the firm's Silicon Valley practice. Mr. Turin earned a bachelor's degree in business administration and commerce from the University of Alberta. He is also a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta.

Jim Haynes
Chief Operations Officer
Mr. Haynes has been with Oclaro since June 2003, serving as the Company's COO and Acting Technology Officer. Prior to joining Oclaro, Mr. Haynes served as the COO of Agility Communications from December 2000 through May 2003. Previously, Mr. Haynes served as Nortel's Director of Technology from, where he had responsibility for all Indium Phosphide Fabs, and Packaging. Mr. Haynes joined Nortel when it acquired STC Defence Systems in 1992. While at STC, he held various management and engineering positions, including Director of Operations. Mr. Haynes earned a bachelor's degree in material sciences and technology from Swansea University, England.

Yves LeMaitre
Executive Vice President and Division Manager
Mr. LeMaitre has been with Oclaro since February 2008, serving as Executive Vice President and Division Manager. Before being appointed to this position, he was the Company's Vice President of Telecommunication Sales and Vice President of Corporate Marketing. Prior to joining Oclaro, Mr. LeMaitre was with Avanex Corporation, most recently serving as Chief Marketing Officer in charge of worldwide sales and marketing. Previously, Mr. LeMaitre was President and Chief Executive Officer of Lightconnect, a leading supplier of optical MEMS components and modules. In addition, he worked for Alcatel and its joint venture with Sprint International in a variety of general management, senior marketing and engineering positions in the United States, France, the Netherlands and Italy. Mr. LeMaitre earned a master's degree in mathematics and computer science from Nantes University in France. He also holds an engineering degree from Ecole Nationale Superieure des Telecommunications (ENST) in Paris.

Dr. Richard Smart
Executive Vice President and Division Manager
Dr. Smart was previously with Avanex Corporation, most recently serving as Vice President of Product Management. Before being appointed to this position, he was the General Manager of the Advanced Modules & Subsystems Business Unit where he was responsible for the product development and P&L of the optical amplifier, tunable dispersion compensator, and subsystem product lines. Dr. Smart has over twenty years experience in the field of fiber optics having held multiple marketing and product development roles at Corning Incorporated, Amoco Corporation and AT&T Bell Laboratories. He earned a Ph.D. in physics from the University of Southampton, England and a bachelor's degree with first class honors in physics from the University of Birmingham, England.

Adam Price
Executive Vice President and Division Manager
Mr. Price has been with Oclaro since 2000, serving as Executive Vice President and Division Manager. Before being appointed to this position, he was the Company's Director of product line management for the Terminal solutions portfolio, responsible for 40Gb/s product definition and strategy. Mr. Price joined Oclaro from Nortel, as Product Line Manager responsible for Mach Zehnder products. Mr. Price has a degree in Electronics and Communication engineering, from the University of Plymouth focusing on real time digital signal processing algorithm design for acoustic applications. Mr. Price also holds a Diploma in Marketing for the telecommunications industry, earned from the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Dr. Krishna Bala
Executive Vice President and Division Manager
Dr. Bala joined Oclaro in 2009 as a part of its acquisition of Xtellus, a leader in Wavelength Selective Switches (WSS), where he was Xtellus's CEO. Prior to that Dr. Bala was a founder and the chief technical officer of Tellium that completed an IPO in 2001. Dr. Bala's architecture work at Tellium revolutionized optical networks with the development of the world's first optical switch and advanced optical mesh networking software, a networking approach now adopted by carriers worldwide. Prior to Tellium, Dr. Bala was the lead architect for Bell Communications Research's multi-wavelength optical networks project which created the basis for current DWDM networks. Dr. Bala has a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University and is the co-author of a book on optical networks.

Scott Parker
Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing Communications
Mr. Parker was previously with Avanex Corporation, most recently serving as the Company's Senior Vice President of Sales. Prior to joining Avanex, Mr. Parker held senior management positions at two start-up companies funded by Sequoia Capital. Previously, Mr. Parker served as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for JDS Uniphase where he integrated the sales and customer service teams from numerous acquisitions. He also held sales and general manager positions at VLSI, National Semiconductor and Intel. Mr. Parker earned an M.B.A and bachelor's degree in marketing from the University of Utah.

Kate Rundle
Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary
Ms. Rundle has been with Oclaro since November 2007 and serving as the Company's Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. Prior to joining Oclaro, Ms. Rundle was Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of MIPS, Inc. [Nasdaq MIPS], a semiconductor technology licensing company. Ms. Rundle also worked at Sun Microsystems for eight years, holding a number of positions including Senior Director responsible for the world wide legal support of the company's marketing organization. Earlier in her career Ms. Rundle was IP Counsel for The 3DO Company and worked at the law firm of Wilson, Sonsini, Goodrich & Rosati. Ms. Rundle earned her bachelor's degree magna cum laude in political science and sociology at the University of California, Berkeley and her J. D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law.

Kathy Zwickert
Executive Vice President of Human Resources
Ms. Zwickert has been with Oclaro since February 2008, serving as Executive Vice President of Human Resources. Prior to joining Oclaro, Ms. Zwickert was Head of Human Resources at Solid Information Technology, a supplier of database solutions. Previously, Ms. Zwickert was the senior HR executive at Keynote Systems. Ms. Zwickert also managed Accenture's first Global Human Resource and Tax Team. She began her career at Ernst and Young and is a Certified Public Accountant. She earned her bachelor's degree in economics and business administration from the University of California, Berkeley.

Dr. Ghazi Chaoui
Executive Vice President of Business Development
Dr. Chaoui joined Oclaro in 2009. Prior to joining Oclaro, he was General Manager of Business Development at Infinera. Mr. Chaoui has 24 years of experience in the development of optical-electronic (OE) components and Optical communications systems. He holds four United States patents in Optics technology and over 15 papers. Mr. Chaoui earned a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering (specialized in Robotics systems) from University of Rhode Island, a "Docteur Ingenieur" degree in Electrical engineering (specialized in Robotics active compliance systems) from University Paul Sabatier (Toulouse-France), an MBA from Institut de Preparation aux Affaires (Toulouse-France) and an Executive MBA from the University of Pennsylvania- Wharton School of Business.
