Position Summary:
Product realization of complex electronic circuits in analog, digital and mixed signal domain for optical communication transmission systems. Hands-on experience in circuit design of sensitive analog circuits and expertise in using CAD tools (OrCad and/or ViewDraw) is required. Creation of design variants and documentation through production documentation systems is an advantage.
Responsibilities:
- Design of sensitive analog, mixed signal and digital circuits including and not limited to opamps, power supplies, control circuits, A/D, D/A, FPGA, PLD and microcontrollers from hardware design perspective
- Work with a cross functional team of optical scientists / engineers, product integrator, production measurement designers and customer specification to create new designs or alter existing designs for compliance
- Schematic entry using standard CAD tools
- Interact closely with a co-development team based in Shanghai, China.
- The successful candidate must be able to work with a PCBA layout engineer based in Shanghai as well as engineers from other disciplines in both Fremont and Shanghai.
- Work with printed circuit board assembly house, internal component engineer and contract manufacturers for PCBA delivery
- Debug design and release to production with compliance to schedule
- Work with lab technicians for product realization
- Support root cause analysis of failures
Qualifications:
- B.S., (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering (R)
- Advanced degree will be an advantage (D)
- 5 or more years of circuit design with emphasis on precision analog circuit implementation experience (R)
- Experience with schematic tools such as ORCAD (R)
- Experience with simulation tools such as SPICE (R)
- Experience in electro-optics and communications industry (D)
- Communicate in English fluently. Knowledge of Mandarin Chinese language a plus.
- Occasional International Travel Required
- Must be capable of working in multi site environment
- Must be capable of working in multi cultural environment
