POSITION SUMMARY:
The Software Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, implementing and testing new software products using computer software.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, implement and test new software products using computer software
- Design and develop algorithms for enhanced optical channel performance monitoring
- Implement communication protocols for communicating with embedded amplifier modules and perform functional testing of software implementation
- Contribute to the development of embedded in-line compiler running under real time operating system
- Architect, design, implement, and test software in a developmental environment using state-of-the-art equipment and tools
- Responsible for key software business unit interface between software innovation sites, software manufacturing and development sites in Asia
- Utilize graduate-level research and analysis skills
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Physics or related technical field - will accept six months of work experience in related
job offered or minimum of semester long or equivalent school project experience in designing and developing software using C/C++/C#.
- Education and/or experience must include: 1) Algorithm Development;
2) Embedded real time programming, with exposure to FPGA based design;
3) Matlab based prototyping; 4) Assembly language; 5) Digital signal processing and communications concepts; and 6) Numerical methods, Language design.
Experience may be gained concurrently. Any suitable combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable
