PROGRAM MANAGER (#ANY-06-07)

Position Summary:

A Program Manager is responsible for coordinating multi-site development activities through the Product Life Cycle process, including setting the project scope and objectives, setting and holding the team accountable for deliverable timelines, meeting performance requirements, and achieving product and development cost objectives. The Technology Integration Program Manager assumes the added responsibility of identifying opportunities to combine and merge technologies and products into integrated product solutions that offer differentiation and added customer value through leveraging strategic partnerships and the internal product portfolio.


Responsibilities:

  • Remain on the cutting edge of innovations in the telecommunications industry and seek and identify opportunities where multiple product solutions can be integrated to create a new product enhancing the product portfolio and brings unique product diversification to our customers.
  • Go to person in the business unit for staying abreast of key technological advancements in the areas of electronics, optics, and mechanicals for products within the telecommunications industry.
  • Facilitate and guide demand driven innovation/Drive improvements in time to market.
  • Conduct phase reviews with key players in product innovation.
  • Drive new product development process.
  • Collaborate constantly with marketing, sales, finance, and operations.
  • Sr. Business Unit Liaison with New Product Introduction and Operations teams in Asia.
  • Leader of cross functional and global product initiatives.
  • Refine plans to achieve profitability targets as necessary.
  • Key customer contact representing product development team.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a strategic technology integrator for R & D programs and a minimum of 5 years experience as a project manager in an innovative environment.
  • Previous experience in the telecommunications industry a must.
  • Experienced in working with the optics, electronic controls, and mechanics of multiple photonic solutions.
  • Experienced, solutions-oriented manager seasoned with upstream product development processes.
  • Six Sigma certification a plus
  • Experience in demand driven innovation processes/sr. level leadership of RPD projects beginning at concept phase and driven into manufacturing is required.
  • Seasoned professional with demonstrated capabilities at the cutting edge of innovation and design.
  • Experience should include interdisciplinary technical management including embedded software systems, electronic and control systems, systems engineering, system integration, or aerospace technology.
  • BS in engineering or physics required, MBA or MS in Engineering Preferred.
  • Previous experience in multi-national product development a must/demonstrated ability to lead virtual teams.
  • Energetic, proactive, and assertive leader.
  • Strong team player, demonstrated ability to build cross functional linkages internally, externally, and culturally.
  • Well-developed communication skills-verbal, written, listening.
  • Process oriented, rigorous with structural flexibility able to see the "big" picture.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and manage stress.
  • Must be willing to play role of "hands on" team member.
  • Frequent international travel required.
